Beyonce Knowles and Jay-Z have officially confirmed the birth of their first daughter.
Initial reports revealed baby Carter’s name as “Ivy Blue” but Jay & Bey have confirmed “BLUE IVY CARTER” was born January 7.
In an official statement released today, Monday, January 9, 2012, The Carters say:
Hello Hello Baby Blue! We are happy to announce the arrival of our beautiful daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, born on Saturday, January 7, 2012.
Her birth was emotional and extremely peaceful, we are in heaven. She was delivered naturally at a healthy 7 lbs and it was the best experience of both of our lives. We are thankful to everyone for all your prayers, well wishes, love and support.
Jay also released a new song entitled “Glory” in honor of his baby girl.

Shawn Carter goes on to reveal in his new song exactly when and where little Blue Ivy was conceived and also reveals that this wasn’t the first time Bey was pregnant.

I love the Carters’s, God knows I do, but that statement is so full of rubish. Now all of a sudden Baby Blue was a normal delivery, weighing 7 lbs, and harmonizing to the tune of Boys to Men?? GTFO!! Jessica Simpson?? That’s a pregnant mama. Jennifer Garner?? That’s a pregnant mama. Ingrid Jackson?? She WAS a pregnant mama.
Nevertheless, the baby is healthy and the parents are estatic. That’s all the matters at the end of the day.

I thought it was beautiful. Especially the end when the baby’s first cries were heard. It made me think back to when my child was born. Where Bey carried this child or not, she’s still a mom. Children are a blessing. I wish them nothing but happiness.

i wonder how his alleged son feels about Blue Ivy being serenaded as his greatest creation. If that is his son jay wrong for those lyrics. I would never imply that one of my children was above the other.
I agree with Ebonee. Blue is a pretty name. I heard Ivy was like the Roman numeral 4 ‘IV’ because both Beyonce and Jay-Z’s birthdays are on the 4th of the month and another reason I don’t remember right now lol. Bottom line they think the #4 is lucky.
Here is a proud father showing his emotions and yet the nay sayers can’t just let all the rumors be. The alleged child that everyone is so quick to speak on belongs to another man which was already confirmed. Google it the story Benny Boom paternity test and that child looks just like his pappy lol.. But I will say congratulations to the parents and the blessings God has bless them with.

I read somewhere that they named the baby after their albums. Jay has the Blueprint (Blue) and B has 4, but to make a name for the number 4 they used the roman numeral IV (Ivy). Kind of clever, but after he has dated Blu Cantrell my baby would never be named Blue.Nevertheless they could name the baby anything with all that money. But the song, I didn’t like it. Too much profanity to be a tribute to your firstborn. I think he could have left out the profanity.
