Last August rumors swirled that Stacey Dash had gotten the ax from VH1′s popular sitcom “Single Ladies” after her diva attitude rubbed show executives the wrong way.

We knew there was a bit of truth to those rumors when co-star LisaRaye interrupted her Italian vacation to issue a response to all that talk that she was the cause of Dash’s termination.
It didn’t take long for Stacey Dash to release her own statement confirming that she was leaving the show, but stating it was her decision to leave due to her familial obligations.
After all that hoopla, a replacement has finally been chosen.
Guess who get’s to fill Dash’s designer stilettos alongside Lisa Raye next season on VH1′s “Single Ladies”…
According to Rodney Ho (AJC),
VH1’s Atlanta-based hit dramedy “Single Ladies” has hired “All My Children” alumnus Denise Vasi as a replacement for Stacey Dash, who abruptly left the show in August after just one season.
Yeah… I never heard of her either. *shrug*
Vasi has a similar look to Dash (light eyes and all) and she recently held a role as Randi Hubbard on ABC’s “All My Children” until the show ended this fall.
Her movie credits include “The Good Guy,” and “The Order of the Serpentine” and other TV credits include HBO’s “How To Make It In America” and USA’s “White Collar.” She is also a model.
The show returns to Atlanta to start shooting season two January 2012 and the new season will air in the early summer.
While Vasi looks similar to Dash, she won’t be taking on the VAL character, in fact, Vasi is cast as Raquel, a close friend of Keisha (LisaRaye McCoy). According to the press release, this new character “Raquel” is “a savvy business woman from a prominent Southern family on a quest to discover passion”.
What happens to Dash’s character Val remains to be seen.
Nothing was addressed last season as far as her leaving. And if you recall, the season finale presented a cliff hanger in which Val was caught in a love-triangle between two men.
Will they beat her up and kill her? Will she suddenly move away with one or the other?
I guess we’ll have to just wait and see…

Its a lie… Dats not true!! It better not be true
I don’t think it will be the same… Tho this new girl is pretty.
I’ve heard of her. (Yes I watch AMC) moreover, Stacey does possess that quality, and I wouldn’t be surprised if they did give her role to someone more humbled.
i hope monica makes an appearance on the show. i love that show, & monica needs to get back to acting.
random, i know. but i didnt know this show was being filmed in atl…since monica livs there it would be perfect.
I’ve seen this young lady on AMC and I think she would be a good choice to replace Stacey. She’s a fresh new face and it would be great to see what she brings to the show. I hope everyone gives her a chance. Some of these older actresses are arrogant in spite of the fact their acting skills SUCK!! Do ya thang Denise! I’m cheering for you!!
i dunno… the last 2 shows kinda of have that "jump the shark feelings"
Just wish they had casted a darker sister … cough cough like NeNe or Shereee or hell even Phareda or miss Kandi.. or Dana Hanna or if they want to make it a little realer – get Missy … #THATISALL
I like this show but it is still missing something
Gabrielle union or Lauren London
How the hell are they going to explain Val’s disappearance and what will happen to her boutique and clothing line not to mention her two suitors? This is absurd. I think they should have just paid Stacey whatever amount she demanded and told Lisa Raye to sit down somewhere. Every time Lisa Raye is around, some poor chick is getting fired.
I like the show but none of them including Stacy were good actresses. Stacy and Lisa should have tried harder to get along because nobody is banging down their doors offering them jobs, especially Stacy her claim to fame is clueless which was in 1995. She looks old now so good luck in Hollywood.
I will still watch the show because its a break from reality tv
the show was a dud….bring back living single

This girl is a dead ringer for the young Stacey Dash, without the Class!!!! Stacey Would never ever let the camera catch her with a flawed weave, and poor makeup!!!!!
