The Queen of Hip-Hop Soul Mary J. Blige opened up the 2011 BET Awards by performing a slew of her past hit songs.
Blige, dressed in a skintight white outfit, began the set with her ’90s hits ‘Mary Jane’ and ‘Real Love,’ and then introduced the legendary Anita Baker, giving her props for inspiring her during her career.
“This song I’m about to sing — if it was never made, I would not be here tonight.”
It was an emotional moment until Twitter went wild buzzing about the fact that Anita rocked the EXACT same dress she wore when she performed during the 2010 Soul Train Awards in Atlanta…
Sadly… all that twitter buzz was true… Continue Reading…

Usher Raymond was spotted chilling at Paris Fashion Week yesterday (June 23, 2010).
The superstar crooner was looking quite debonair as he viewed the Adam Kimel Menswear Spring/Summer 2012 line from the front row.
A few feet down from Ursh was none other than the queen of fashion himself, Kanye West, who was decked out in his Dallas Maverick’s hat along with his signature Jesus piece…. Continue Reading…
Ali, Quez and Strap, the three cuties known as Travis Porter took over Atlanta’s Lenox Square Mall a few days ago (June 14, 2011).
The trio hit the Apple store where they performed several of their hit songs and almost caused the upper level of Lenox Square to topple under the weight of all their anxious fans.
I was invited out to speak with Travis Porter but my experience with a member of their crew jaded me a lil bit and I decided to forgo our interview, rather than appear all salty on camera.
At the end of the day, the group themselves had absolutely nothing to do with their idiotic road manager, and I allowed my emotions to get in the way.
I actually like Travis Porter AND the music they make, so umma let bygones be bygones. [but if I ever catch that knee-grow on the street… <<< I kidd. I kidd]
Check out video of Travis Porter’s performance at the Apple store… Continue Reading…
Soulja Boy aka DeAndre Cortez Way definitely knows how to keep his name in your mouth. This week… SB has followed Chris Brown’s lead and dyed his hair blond. *sigh*
The only difference is that Soulja Boy chose to bleach only the top portion of his head, in what some feel is his way of separating his look from CBreezy. But errr ummm… whatever makes you feel better.
SB stunned fans with a new Twitter icon where he was photographed rocking his new light bright, low-cut Caesar (with an immaculate hairline).
He also tweeted several other shots, one of which he is photographed holding the current issue of Fader Magazine, which he covers.
Soulja’s last “new doo” was a high top fade, as he was claiming to be the next 2pac in his own ATL version of “Juice”.
But the high top fade is gone and apparently blonde is the way to go these days…
Think Beyonce, Keri Hilson, Amber Rose, Chris Brown… hell, even Wiz Khalifa added splash of blonde to the front of his nappy fro! (Wiz discussed his blonde patch with me HERE).
I dunno about SB though…. I feel like this is just a cry for attention since no one fell for that Diamond thing (but what do I know?) *shrug*
What do you think of Soulja Boy’s new doo? ‘Thumbs up’ or ‘That ain’t it’?
