Bishop Eddie Long has reached a settlement today (May 26, 2011) with the four men who accused him of sexual coercion, so now they’ll have a bit of spending money for Memorial Day weekend.
Attorney BJ Bernstein (counsel for the 4 plaintiffs) says that neither she, nor the men who made the complaints would speak about the settlement but she released a statement on their behalf saying only, “The matter has been resolved.”
Four former New Birth Missionary Baptist Church members filed lawsuits against Long, his church and youth academy, after they said he used his power and influence to entice them into sexual relationships.
Long denied the claims… even taking it to the pulpit with a sermon on David & Goliath, but apparently that final stone he preached about was thrown by his accusers.
Long agreed to a hush-hush settlement that came after he and his accusers attended court-ordered mediation sessions.
I hate to say I told y’all but I did. Long was NEVER gonna let this go to trial because he knew that the allegations were too explosive.
There’s no disputing the emotion that was displayed on the face of Jamal Parrish when he was ambushed by that reporter.

SMH it’s a shame these guys went through what they did but hopefully their stories and subsequent lawsuit will urge other victims to come forward. Eddie isn’t the only perv out there ministering or teaching the young. The schools, churches and townhalls are full of these parasites. I wish Eddie Longpoke would have gone to prison for what he did or even to prison for beating the crap out of his first wife when she was pregnant with their child. He doesn’t deserve to lead that church and shame on the parishoners for sacrificing their young to this demon!

This case was so easy to prove.When he took these young men that he was supposed to be ministering on trips,they shared his room.Hotel data would attest to that.That alone makes no sense for even a married man to do,much less a preacher.
It’s sad that it came down to money. Now Bisihop Long Stroke is going to use that as an excuse. Like he paid for it all to go away.
I knew it wouldn’t go to trial but my fingers were crossed. I wanted all his dirt to be displayed to the world. This man is nasty and he’s a liar and he does not belong in a pulpit.
My heart goes out to those young men because the money is not going to ever replace what he took from them.

You can’t tell these stupid ass church going folks nothing (not saying all people who go to church are stupid, but you know the ones I’m talking about). As long as you’re preaching and refrencing God, they’ll still dish out their money. It’s sick and sad, he should be doing time like the rest of the pervs who committed this crime. If the victims were not looking for money they would not have settled for money, it would be jail time to get him off the street, or jail time to stop him from doing what he was accused of to ANYBODY else. Sounds like money was better than justice.
If Long was truly innocent…he would not have settled. He would have gone to trial and let the so-called truth be exposed. I hope his wife, children and congregation see what kind of man is hiding behind the ministry. Don Lemon had it exactly right when he talked about homosexuality and Black Church. Gay cannot be prayed away. There are many Eddie Longs preaching damnation against homosexuals all over this country and worshipping dicks in the dark. Not sure how these folks look themselves in the mirror or sleep at night. Unfortunately, the church will go on as usual and this will be forgotten until it happens again. And it will definitely happen again in some compacity.

I wish all the other Eddie Longs to be exposed as well. When are poeple going to realize that these pervs go into the church for the express purpose of molesting your children and getting you to pay for it! A true man of God doesn’t need or want your money and would minister to your entire family -not your kids separate from you, and he surely wouldn’t take your kids out of the country or to a damn hotel.
I’ve read that the Catholic church is trying to excuse all of their rotten molesting behavior by saying it isn’t pedophilia if the kid is over the age of 10 and that it the law shouldn’t be involved but only the church should handle such cases. WTF?
