It’s only been a week since Justin Bieber’s haircut nearly shut down the social networking site Twitter, but it’s already been sold for tens of thousands of dollars!
The Bieb-ster shed his locks on February 21st and posted pics to the dismay of all his pre-teen fans who didn’t take the news too well.

Justin gifted a lock of his hair to Ellen DeGeneres in a signed box the day after his much-buzzed-about cut and it was immediately auctioned off on eBay last week. Within an hour the bids were up to $10,000.
Yesterday it sold for a whopping $40,668. Per DeGeneres, the entire sum will be donated to the animal rescue organization The Gentle Barn Foundation, and the winning bidder will get to meet the teen superstar the next time he appears on The Ellen Show.
No word on who Wednesday’s winning bidder was just yet, but I suspect it’s some old creepy billionaire who likes boys. Who the hell else would buy a piece of hair for $40,000 bux??
