I decided a while ago, after packing on the pounds that I had to either get my big “A”zz moving or invest in once of those lil scooter thingys I see the old folks riding in at Walmart.
Choosing the cheaper option, I decided to start a work out plan. I was approached by a trainer (who shall remain nameless) who I worked with for about 2 weeks. I was totally committed for those 2 weeks but my trainer wasn’t very committed to me. I’ve been asked about it several times, but long story short… he had ulterior motives that had absolutely nothing to do with losing weight, so I kicked him and that negative energy to the curb.
Now… fast forward to today, I contacted Dr. Scott Cameron at Dramatic Weight Loss after I’d seen quite a few of my “industry” friends slimming down.
I met with him on November 3rd and immediately hopped on the DWL plan. That first week, I lost 10 lbs.! Needless to say, I was hooked…
For those of you who don’t know about Dramatic Weight Loss, it’s that program you see listed everywhere that touts… “Lose 15lbs in 15 days”. I never believed it either, but apparently it works.
My problem has always been skipping meals. No breakfast, big lunch, no dinner…. or either big Breakfast, no lunch, no dinner. Blah…blah…blah! I guess I thought that not eating anything was better than eating bullcrap but I got frustrated as I watched my waistline getting bigger and bigger.
Some of this is probably common sense but once I got on the DWL program and actually created a “schedule,” everything just fell into place.
And now here I am 25lbs lighter! (PHOTOS)
VIDEO: How I Lost 25lbs with Dramatic Weight Loss
The program consists of three phases. During the initial phase (1), you drink 6 protien shakes a day. Starting from the time you wake up, and every 3.5 hours til the time you go to bed.
Phase II – you being to incorporate 2 small meals in your day along with 4 shakes. Still eating every 3.5 hours.
Phase III – is maintenance once you reach your goal.
The first week was hard, but I promise you it was worth it!
I’ve got a ways to go and am trying to stay on the program until I shed about 30 more, so I’m asking you to join me on my mission to get fit! I’ve already recruited AttorneyMom, who lost 10lbs her first week as well.

A,Congrats on the new you.HHmmm,…Think I will pull out my BBlanks dvds to jump start the new year off right.Good luck to all of those folk looking to sculpt, tighten up or just drop some unwanted pounds.Remember, your health is your wealth and you must protect it at all cost.
Thank you guys!! (((hugs))) Now who’s joining me? I need some partners in this venture!
You need to get with a nutrionist and find another trainer. You will regain the weight again without the guidance. Your body needs the nourishment of healthy food and exercise. Be grateful to God that you can eat healthy food. There are people who are truly sick that need to drink their food. You look great, but this is not the answer for anyone.
You look great! I was on the DWL plan earlier this year. It does work wonders quickly. But I must agree with Janet. After, I eased myself off the plan (because frankly I got tired of spending the money on shakes/vitamin paks and I don’t like taking pills) I slowly gained about 15 lbs back. Although I do work out reguarly, I started eating the wrong foods again.
So the calories I burned in the gym just wasn’t enough to burn the amount of calories I was taking in. So I suggest you continue to eat healthy foods and low-cal snacks in between meals. And workout! This is the only way to keep the weight off. I do plan to jumpstart my 2011 weightloss again. Hopefully I will do right this time.
congrats to losing 25lbs so far. good luck with more in the future. thanks for the tips…i may be incorporating that in my new diet!
That’s great but I do agree with Janet & Bels, I would also strongly encourage a fitness program/regimen to go with and just a total lifestyle change as far as nutrition and exercise.

Our program is not about being on shakes for life. Phase I of our program is 6 shakes per day, this phase is important in order to increase your metabolism, increasing your metabolism will not only help you lose weight but will also help you maintain your goal weight once you have reached it. During Phase II of our program you will be incorporating high protein meals and vegetables into your diet. Phase III of the DWL program is maintenance. Once you have reached your goal weight we will teach you how to maintain that weight while still enjoying the foods you love. We also promote exercise as it is a very important part of maintaining your goal weight. Unlike many weight loss programs, we are here for our patients both during and after their weight loss journey. Please let us know if you have any questions or if you would like to set up your no obligation consultation. 770)394-9991
Thank you for the feedback. I just want to reemphasis that drink meal replacement products or supplements is not a sustainable approach to weight loss for the average American who is overweight. Thus approach may work for the morbidly obese ( think female over 325 lbs of average height ) who is now suffering from metabolic syndrome and possibly diabetes and or early stage heart failure. These are serious issues that result from not managing your weight.
Liquid diets are simply unsustainable for longtwrm weight loss. Many of us need to learn the following: 1) the importance of exercise; 2) eating organic meats; 3) eating vegetables — organic if we can afford it; 4) asking for help and support. People of color often endure a significant amount of stress that leads to seek comfort in bad habits. Break the cycle by seeking help. Find a nutrionist to teach you about healthy eating habits, ask your doctor to test you for ailments to ensure that there isn’t a medical reason for the weight gain and see a physcologist, if you’re suffering from addiction and or family burdens. Finally, stop looking for a quick fix. You can see impressive results through diet and exercise in a little over 3 months and you can achieve dramatic weight loss ( more than 50 pounds) in a year by sticking to a plan of healthy eating and exercise that incorporates weight, resistance and cardio training. Let’s get healthy so we can enjoy life. The alternatives are not life sustaining.
Happy New Year
Ps none of this has to cost you additional money so don’t get discouraged. Keep moving forward
This may be a great jumpstart, but I too agree with Janet & Bels. Once the program ends, you will regain the weight & more. I think Weight Watchers is a much better program because it is a longterm lifestyle change!
You look amazing!! Congrats on the weight loss and keep up the good work
