Kandi Burruss (Of “Real Housewives of Atlanta” and formerly of Xscape) has been busy filming the 3rd season of the hit reality show, but has also been busy making music.
She was recently spotted in the studio with Ne-Yo working hard on a new track and also made time to assist Real Housewives of Atlanta breakout star, Lawrence Washington with an addictive song that will be featured this season on the show.

The Platinum singer/songwriter has recently released a new single, entitled “Leave You”.
Kandi had this to say about the record:
Working on this album, I knew I wanted to get back in the studio with Jazze Pha, a long-term friend and great producer. He and the two co-writers of the song are very talented people who I feel really understand me as an artist.
I went into the session wanting to record a real R&B song that took you back to my Xscape days. We were known for songs that felt good, had a great groove to them, and displayed strong vocals and hard hitting production. ‘Leave You’ — in my opinion — is my 2010 version of that.
The song was not about a specific situation of mine but more my desire to create that record everyone can relate to. If someone is not doing the things they did to get you when they have you — it is time to take that walk and leave!

Make it or Break it! What do you think of Kandi’s new song, “Leave You”?

She should have let another Artist sing the song. But I like the song.
I agree with NeNe, her voice is just "Aiight" Nothing special. The song would be better if someone with a better voice was singing it…
Nice song love it!
I love it too! And she is right on point. I hope people take heed to the words and make it known that it’s not cool to go for just any old thing. Make him WORK for it!
i love the song i need this ask my ringtone kandi keep doin ur thing
The girl can not sing stick to writing voice is terrible tired of men bashing song you hear one done heard them all i think i stick to my 80s music.
I enjoyed the song, the hook is catchy and the subject matter is simple which makes it relevant to many… which = $$. That ‘artsy’ stuff is okay (and usually only appeals to a mature audience) but a song with a catchy hook and fun lyrics is what sells, kids.
I admire her so much. Go Kandi!
I think her voice is distinctive. It’s easy to get irritating with a mid-tempo song. "Don’t Think I’m Not" was probably was the best platform for her unique voice.
I like Kandi,
This is hot and so true!

THE SONG IS WACK!!!! HONESTLY I LIKE KANDI BUT BACK TO THE LAB AND DRAWING BOARD ON THIS….
i luv diz song
I really like Kandi and I support her because she’s a real sistah making it happen for herself – so big ups for that. She also has a beautiful voice, but something is missing from these songs. I’m no artist but there is a reason why songs like R Kelly’s, When a Woman Love, fly off the shelves. Those songs have IT, but I’m just not feeling Kandi’s songs right now.
I do like this song and I think it can grow on me, but it could not be a classic; meaning, I wouldn’t have this in my Ipod twenty years from now.
But, I’m buying the album anyway girl because I support my own. Just keep working it out.
kandi you go girl love the album, especially leave you and im old school.
