Real Housewives of Atlanta newbie Cynthia Bailey married her fiance’, entrepreneur Peter Thomas at a private ceremony held at the Fernbank Museum Natural Museum of History this past weekend. Bailey’s new hubby is owner of Atlanta’s Uptown Restaurant and Lounge.
In a press release sent Friday, Bailey’s publicist “accidentally” let the cat out of the bag about the wedding, in what Bravo says was supposed to be a surprise ending to their 3rd season:
Model Cynthia Bailey, one of the newest cast members of Bravo’s hit reality television show The Real Housewives of Atlanta, will walk down the aisle tomorrow night right here in Atlanta and the wedding ceremony and reception will be filmed for the upcoming third season of the hit series.
Lucky invited wedding guests can expect a lot of surprise performances by all of the celebrities at the reception. And, of course, with NeNe, Kandi, Lisa and Sheree there, those wedding guests will probably get a little bit of drama too!
Bravo is still trying to keep a cap on the happenings at the wedding and I heard that attendees weren’t allowed to carry cell phones or cameras inside. I did hear, however, that the wedding began a bit late and was full of drama courtesy of NeNe Leakes and Kim Zolciak:
According to the NYPost:
The wedding of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” newcomer Cynthia Bailey started and ended in drama. The Saturday nuptials in Atlanta to restaurateur Peter Thomas was held up for 45 minutes by castmate Nene Leakes, who barged into Bailey’s bridal suite and demanded her hair and makeup be done.
Kim Zolciak then got into a tiff with her blond boy toy, who “was checking out a hot redhead while puffing a cigar. Kim caught him in the act,” said a witness.
Sheree Whitfield, Kandi Burruss and Phaedra Parks attended, but not Lisa Wu Hartwell, who we hear is being axed.
The press release did promise “a little bit of drama,” so I guess that sounds about right. *shrug*
Bailey and Thomas have a wedding website that details the ceremony but it doesn’t really have much info on it. She did, however, clue us in on how their union came about:
Me and Peter met almost 18 years ago on a flight from Miami to New York. We were introduced by Lyor Cohen. Although we share mutual friends together, we never saw each other again until 3 years ago in Atlanta. We reconnected instantly and fell in love.
Awww how sweet! Congratulations to the happy couple!
