There’s a vicious rumor circulating the net that American Idol viral sensation General Larry Platt was found dead yesterday (May 30).
Platt, known for his AI hit “Pants on the Ground” is said to have died after he was robbed and beaten while performing the song in a parking lot.
According to one report:
Platt was singing and dancing in a parking lot and once he hit the second verse of “Pants on the Ground” a group of guys started to beat the crap out of him. Once the cops arrived it was too late, Platt was gone.
Don’t believe the hype! Platt is alive and well and probably chewing on a rib as I type…
The AJC contacted Platt at his Atlanta home and confirmed it’s all a hoax:
“Who are these people telling these lies?” Platt told the AJC on Monday morning. Platt was oblivious to the rampant Internet rumors.
Platt said he planned to spend Memorial Day at a barbecue, “just enjoying the rain and talking to my friends.”
We still have our hometown superstar among us. Now STOP spreading the lies and get yo “pants off the ground.”
