A coroner’s report has revealed sickle cell anemia may have played a role in the death of Ashley “AJ” Jewell, who died during a brawl in front of the Body Tap strip club. According to Fulton County Associate Medical Examiner, Dr. Kelly Rose, preliminary autopsy results lead her to believe Jewell suffered from Sickle Cell, a disease which inhibits oxygen flow to tissues in the body.
Rose says it’s most likely that Jewell was so worked up from the fight, that it’s probable that the disease prevented his body from replenishing the oxygen he lost during the incident. Although the report is plausible, AJ’s parent’s are crying FOUL and feel that it was still murder. Check out their statement below:

“Our son ‘AJ’ had the sickle cell trait which caused no related medical problems during his life. We feel AJ’s death was a result of the malicious attack by the individual and/or individuals present during the fight.”
Wow! I have sickle cell disease and most would be surprised to hear that a lot of illnesses and ailments that are related to the disease…I am also wondering if he had not been in the fight would he have been alive. My prayers are still with his children and family.
As I am a strong believer in faith and I feel for this family and the lost of their son. However, and this is not to be funny before you bishes jump down my throat, when you are born you have a set date of when you will die and unfortunately A.J. lost his life during a fight. Would he still be here? Um no, because if it wasn’t the fight then it may have been a car accident on the way home or he could have went to sleep that night and never woke back up because God had already determined when he was coming home. May his family rest in peace!

The person that said that God as a time when a person will die did not take into the account from proverbs which says honor your mother and father and your days will be long upon the earth. God has a plan for our life and as we make choices God’s plan then God allows a longer or shorter life, for whatever reasons God has determined. As God is infinite there are an infinite set of reasons and purposes. Not for me to judge. I pray for his children that they know Christ for only through Jesus can they have relationship with their heaven Father and that is the only Father they have left. He can fill a loving void.
I hope this in someway will help Kandi find her way in life. I believe Kandi’s mother has done the best she could.
So far as the coroner. He said that AJ’s condition contributed. The legal system will undoubtedly do a fair job. My heart goes out to AJ’s family and friends. His children are his legacy.
Wow I have sickle cell to in I’m actually in the hospital now I’ve been back in fourth for 2 mnths I’ve been in a fight before & I had to get rushed to the hospital because I stopped breathing & my cells were losing oxygen. This is so crazy I don’t want to die at a young age.
