Why I’m Rootin For Bobby Brown + In Case You Missed It: “Bobby Brown Behind The Music”
Bobby Brown has always been my favorite New Edition member. Not only was he the most charismatic, but he was the most unpredictable of them all. Yeah, Ralph may have had a soft sexy voice, Mike had that northern swagga on lock, Ricky had a nice smile and Ronnie had… well he had a nice juicy curl…But it was Bobby who kept MY attention on lock.
When Bobby and Whitney hit Atlanta back in the 90’s it was even more evident that he was the one to watch. Bombarded by legal issues concerning child support cases, D.U.I.’s, and whatever else…Bobby never left the spotlight even when he wasn’t performing. I dunno what it was about him, but I was always silently rooting for his return. While the media bashed him for ruining Whitney, I always knew in my heart that Whitney shared responsibility in that downfall.
When Whitney appeared on Oprah she seemed to blame Bobby for all her setbacks. It got me to thinking about all the times I could have blamed my ex *cough* ex(es) for the things that have gone wrong in my life. It wouldn’t have mattered. I still had to take responsibility for my own actions. I’m of the belief that the first step to moving forward is admitting that you made your own decisions and I see Whitney as seeking someone to blame.
Bobby, during his episode of VH1’s Behind The Music, didn’t blame Whitney at all for his failures. In fact, he seemed quite content in his current situation. From being flat broke after his separation and subsequent divorce from Whitney, to finding a new love, Bobby admitted his faults. In VH1’s coverage, they even showed the clip Karrine “Superhead” Steffans’ posted on YouTube of Brown sleeping on her couch during his lowest moments:
Even after being backstabbed by someone he considered a friend, Bobby still seemed to keep a level head. Bobby has since moved on to a new woman and recently added a new child to the Brown clan. No one knows what happened during the course of his and Whitney’s relationship but the two of them, but it would be a smart decision to take all the blame off of Bobby.

Hmmmmm
September 28, 2009 @ 12:58 pmI didn’t see the entire interview, but I do have to agree that you can’t put all the blame on others. There is a reason Whitney allowed herself to be caught up in that madness in the first place. Bobby has never been my favorite NE member but I’m sure he isn’t the devil incarnate either. There’s some things in Ms. Houston’s life and past childhood that brought a lot of pain to have her make those decisions. I just hope she is taking responsibility for them and living in truth about them so she can let them go and move forward. Because if not, all she’ll do is find another “crutch” to lean on. Clive and your mama ain’t gone always be there, especially when I feel they both may have been part of the problem in the first place.

September 28, 2009 @ 1:49 pmI feel you Michelle and I wish Clive would pay as much attention to the other ladies on his label as much as he does Whitney.
NJ Native
September 28, 2009 @ 5:33 pmComing from the state of where this woman lived and grew, and after hearing the bs she spoke on oprah. I only have one thing to say. Come to jersey ask around about her. Atlien you are absolutely right there is more than what she is leading the rest of the world to believe. If your from NJ you know about her wild coke parties, her tantrums in public, and why areseno really walked out on her. You know how bobby got sucked up into her bs and it escalated out of control. People with like vices often attract the same.
She needs to realize that we know the truth , her family was never silent out their out-cry and anger toward her behavior and lies.
The truth starts at New Hope Baptist Church in Newark , bounces from there all around New Jersey.
Whitney needs to grow up and step up. A new album and dating little boys isn’t going to change the fact that she destroyed her self and blaming bobby aint either.

September 29, 2009 @ 6:28 pmWhatever! When did Whitney blame Bobby? R u serious? I am sooooo sick of hearing people say that. Michelle, u clearly have selective hearing. So is she blaming Bobby because she told the truth about their marriage? She’s blaming Bobby becuz he slapped her? She clearly stated, she does things on her own terms. Nobody makes her do anything.
I wish yall get off her like she needed to shift any blame on Bobby Brown- of ALL people. PLEAE! LOL! What does she have to gain by doing that.
FOr the record, she didnt come out that Oprah interview looking like an angel. Props to Whitney for staying with his no job having, in and out of jail, adultry committing a$$! I wish yall get off Bobby nuts and see him for the man, or wanna be man he was.
ANDDDDD, as far as Whitney, Im nogt saying she is an angel. Far from it. But yall need to get over the fact she didnt break down on Oprah and call herself a crackhead. Thats what u wanted, but she is too much of a lady. Oprah asked questions regarding the marriage and she answered. Bottom line. She did not BLAME Bobby for anything. Like she said, its allot of stuff she couldve said. GET OF BOBBY’s musty nuts!
