Break Ups ~ Kandi & AJ Call it Quits *CONFIRMED*
I initially refused to believe all the hype about the breakup of Real Atlanta Housewife Kandi Burruss and her finace’ Ashley “AJ” Jewell cause I’m a die hard optimist. I thought the two were gonna fight against all the naysayers and tie knot. I envisioned a Black version of The Brady Bunch where Kandi & AJ would merge families and all would move into one house and live happily ever after while we all watched it all unfold on reality TV. Well, apparently my vision was askew:
Kandi let it slip during a recent Essence interview that she and AJ were on “Hiatus” and that although she and AJ had hit a rough patch, two of his girls, who had moved into her place while the couple was engaged, are still living in her home.
We’re on hiatus. He’s a great guy and he’s not the type to sit on his behind like a scrub, so it has nothing to do with that. Yes, he has a lot of children, and yes, I didn’t know about them all at first but I got over it because as long as you handle your responsibility and spend time with your children it’s not an issue for me. Another thing I want to set the record straight on is that AJ was married before. A lot of people make comments like, if he didn’t marry his other children’s mothers then why do you think he’s going to marry you.
Well AJ says they’re not on no “hiatus”: They’ve broken up and he’s moved out. Kandi’s future ex-husband also confirmed that although they’ve gone their separate ways, they remain good friends and are raising his twin daughters together. Ok…I guess he cleared that up.
You can find AJ over at The Body Tap where I heard he’s part owner. That’s where I found him anyway. *ding* I just had a light bulb moment about where Kandi learned those infamous skripper moves she taught Fantasia. It all makes sense now.

September 18, 2009 @ 8:13 amKandi, Kandi, kandi… why? I know you didn’t let the blog sites determine your destiny with your man.. I’m hoping you had some real issues with this man, and not just the fact that other people had a problem with how he made his money and how many children and baby mothers he had.. no one sets out to find a man with 6 children and 4 baby mothers! I don’t believe you pick and choose who you fall in love with.. just because he’s not what everyone wanted him to be, he probably was what you wanted. Your mother has to much say in who your with,and you look to every one for an opinion on this man, seems you may be by yourself for a long time, until you become secure with who you are and what you want, as well as not letting you momma pick and choose your relationships…

September 19, 2009 @ 11:31 amI always thought she was just with him for the show..I mean her mom and daughter disapproved..it was inevitable they would break up not to mention that is hella baggage. But Body Tap used to be my fav workout spot..the one in MD tho

September 24, 2009 @ 12:41 amKandi, you are one of my favorite people on the show. I think you have a really sweet demeanor and are successful. You make me proud of being a black woman. Having said that, although I do not agree with your relationship with this guy, it is your relationship. Personally the fact that he lied about having all those kids puts me off. I could not be with someone with that many kids and that many baby momma’s. What was he thinking having that much unprotected ***? How much respect does he have for himself to have babies by that many women? What about family values? He sounds just too irresponsible. Even if he is taking care of all his kids. You would definatley be just as responsible for them once you got married, and if you don’t believe that, then its’ naivite on your part. I wish you peace and blessings and a better more resposible mate without a baseball team of kids.

September 27, 2009 @ 7:40 pmA man with 6 kids from 4 different women says it all. It speaks of a man that is irresponsible, to say the least. There is no defense that makes that alright, unless he was married to those women. And it speaks of the character of the man. Anyone with any morals about themselves can see that. Kandi has too much going for herself to be with a man like that. And more than likely it is a blessing in disguise that she won’t be marrying him. You can look at his mannerisn and the way that he carries himself that he has no character and class and he is only good for making babies. Kandi deserves much better. We all want the best for Kandi and it is not hard to see that A.J. is not the one.

Alot of people will never understand the way the mind of a bull works but I’m one too so I understand just fine and although things ultimately went wrong with A.J somewhere I know the decision was made by you and not influenced by the blogs or your mother but people are gonna believe what they want so let em have it girl and just keep making those hot songs and I’m dying for the album 1 copy sold already.
