In a heartbreaking revelation yesterday, Rocsi Diaz from BET’s 106 & Park openly discussed struggling through an eating disorder in high school. The normally bubbly host broke down during the taping of the show as she described her use of diet pills and anorexic behavior in order to remain thin for her cheerleading team.
I commend her bravery in revealing this on television…in front of a live audience. Body image issues (especially in the entertainment industry) is common and while not everyone can openly admit that they binge/purge, use diet pills and go through other extreme measures to fit in to the industry standard of beauty, she did and I’m sure her story touched quite a few lives.
My heart is still aching since being advised about Big Boi’s cheatin ways while at DisneyWorld, well now he’s been spotted at SeaWorld gettin his midget groove on. Twan frolicked with the penguins in a lil promo-vid for SeaWorld’s Penguin Encounter where he was only about a foot taller than his new friends. Hhmph!

Did Michael Jackson predict his own demise in a song? ‘Morphine’ from the 1997 album Blood on the Dance Floor: HIStory in the Mix is being tossed around online and the question is being asked did the song actually foreshadow his death and reveal his Demerol addiction? The song starts off with the lyrics “He got flat baby/Kick in the back baby/A heart attack baby/I need your body.” But the verse about morphine substitute Demerol is what is creating a ton of buzz, particularly after rumors have surfaced that Michael had been suffering from drug addiction and abuse. Recent reports that Jackson was injected with the same painkiller just before his death also sparks the controversy surrounding the track.

Meet Ms. Constance Trahan (above). Ms. Trahan was arrested recently for running an illegal basement strip club outside of Atlanta, Georgia. Gwinnett County police were called to her home on the 1400 block of Purcell Road in Lawrenceville July 18, 2009 because of complaints of a loud party. Police arrived and found much more than just a party, they found a basement strip club. (more…)

Big Boi was spotted chillin with Minnie Mouse during his vacay at Disney World. You betta watch your back Twan, I heard Mickey is a jealous mofo! It seems as though Big Boi is getting some much needed R&R before hitting the promo track for the release of his highly anticipated solo project, “Sir Lucious Leftfoot: Son of Chico Dusty”. The first single from the upcoming album, Royal Flush, was released March 2008 and the second single is “Sumthin’s Gotta Give” featuring Mary J. Blige.

Two idiotic DeKalb County officers are being investigated for allegedly performing a background check on President Barack Obama. Officials would not release the names of the officers accused in the July 20th incident, but they each have been placed on administrative leave after the United States Secret Service notified county officials that Dekalb County computer equipment had been used to do a query on the President.
The officers have not been charged with any crime (yet) but the county’s Internal Affairs division is handling the official investigation. When questioned about the incident, William “Miz” Miller, DeKalb Public Safety director stated that such behavior would not be tolerated from their officers.
“As Public Safety Director for DeKalb County, I want everyone to know that we take these allegations very seriously,” he said in a statement. “We expect our officers to adhere to professional standards and departmental policy. Furthermore, we do not and will not condone the inappropriate use of county equipment or resources.” (Source)

The premier party for the Real Housewives of Atlanta was held at the W Hotel. Lisa Wu Hartwell stole the show in her bright green dress and freshly beat face! The premier party was packed and although everybody seemed to be in good spirits, NeNe & Kandi rarely came within a few feet of one another, except for during photo ops! After hearing THIS blow-up over at MissJia.com, I can see why. Just messy! NeNe also took the time to share with anyone who would listen plans for the release of her upcoming book, Never Make the Same Mistake Twice, which is scheduled for release in August.
