Flashback ~ “We Started This…”
As the man in the red pinstripped suit and white tee tells you at the beginning of this classic video, “Atlanta is the capital of the DANCE…We started this here and we’re gonna finish it here.” We may get clowned by all you northerners who just don’t get it, but ATLiens have been making up dances way before SouljaBoyTellem was born.
I catch a ton of flack for riding hard with Mr. Collipark’s mini me. But regardless of what y’all think or say, SouljaBoy is one talented individual and a muthaf*ckin MARKETING GENIUS! Hate on haters… but I digress.
Crunk, Yeekin,’ Bankhead bouncin, Two-Steppin, Birdwalking….we’ve had it all. I know y’all can recall the old days of sweating it up on Bankhead Highway (one block away from where T.I. posted Club Crucial) at ‘The Silver Fox” or over on Gresham at Sharon’s Showcase, or waaaaay back when you’d hit up Greenbriar Skating Rink. Well, the clip above will probably refresh your memory. It showcases Atlanta’s wide array of dances in a classic dance off competition. Our music & beats were meant to move to. It’s addictive so there’s no use in fighting it. Y’all northerners can try to catch up but it’s useless…we’re already two-steppin ahead of ya!
Video below: (*Sidenote*: Special “A” Town Crunk award goes to Rashan Ali for showing em how it’s done down here! Whe she started “yeeking” at about 1:45 I almost fell outta my chair!)

May 27, 2009 @ 6:58 amNortherners don’t care about dances. As an Los Angeles native, the West doesn’t either. We don’t dance we boogie. All regions have their own tastes
