Somebody told me recently that I always have “people”…for every problem there is a solution and most likely a contact in my phone. Cool Breeze’s “Cre-A-Tine” song is a great reflection of me and my circle of friends. As someone who’s been around these parts for quite some time, it’s easy to accumulate a few “people” who’ve been around as well. I must say though… my circle of friends is wide and ranges from corporate CEO’s to school teachers to producers to shady “A”zz hustlers (and everything in between). And they all hold me down and stand by me when I’m in need. I can honestly say I’m a blessed woman.
Shouts out to the Southside! S.W.A.T.s….. STAND UP!
So, I’m sitting at my daughter’s honor’s program with one of her best friends, Braves-game-ghetto-cheering for all of their ‘The Smawwt One’ buddies. I love this kid! He was all hugged up in the parking lot with his Sasha/Malia-looking girlfriend yesterday who is on her way to UGA to study pre-med, I believe. He plays in the inner-city high school band and was actually in a fairly popular snap music video for a few seconds (below).
Dem Franchize Boyz ~ Talkin Out the Side of Yo Neck
When they all went to the Battle of The Bands college fair earlier this school year, they got stopped by members of other bands who recognized him from his cameo. Purportedly, “He got that fire!” Did I mention that he’s white?
That White Kid. Remember him? Not the Jamie Kennedy, Straight From The ‘Bu caricature kid who walked around “acting black” and only saw black folk on tv, one lunchroom table over and at his back door, but the kid who was very aware of his “whiteness” in a sepia-toned world and didn’t care. (more…)
Vibe Magazine’s VSessions LIVE! hit Atlanta last night. The event, hosted by Kenny Burns featured DJ Don Cannon on the 1’s and 2’s and brought several celebrity supporters out to The Loft to showcase up and coming artists.
“The whole VSessions was created to pass the torch in a way to other artists,” says Burns. “You have Disturbing the Peace, Asylum and Warner Brothers artists — it’s about showcasing the talent that’s emerging on the scene today. This [is] where the music is really happening,” he says. “All of the music is coming out of Atlanta, all of the singers, producers and songwriters. Athletes are moving here during the off-season and making their permanent home, so the shoe fits.”
Disturbing Tha Peace’s Rudy Currence, singer/songwriter Julie Dexter, Warner Records’ Teairra Mari and Grand Hustle’s Yung LA were the featured performers but Ludacris, Slim (of 112), Yung Joc, American Yard and more were spotted at the event. Check out a few photos below:
So THIS is the outfit everyone’s clowning tonight? Looks like a yeast infection waiting to happen *sigh* ~ ATLien
I’ve actually always liked Teairra Mari and I heard she put it down last night! I’m so upset that I couldn’t make it out but Twitter came to my rescue with a few entertaining play by plays:
I sat down with Pleasure P a few days ago during his private listening session for his upcoming solo project entitled “The Introduction of Marcus Cooper.” Prior to us getting down to business, P decided to go ahead an answer the one burning question that was on everyone’s mind: What the hell did he think of his former Pretty Ricky bandmate Sexy Spec’s Grind Challenge video? The answer surprised quite a few of us, since those red speedo’s and fruity spins were fresh on all our brains:
I ain’t gone let y’all sit and talk bad about him…because I was once in a group with him and I’m never gonna forget that. I was on the stage with him and we had a lot of good times. I would never let nobody talk bad about him around me. While I’m here, if y’all would please just keep down your comments and stuff…. I just want him to do his thang and that’s what he’s doing and I’m doing me. That’s the best way I can handle this situation.
And if I were your homeboy, I would do the same thing. If I was in a group with you, even if we don’t talk, even if we ain’t cool no more… I would never throw you under the bus. Never.
Pleasure P’s a real stand up dude! I can really respect that. *sigh* OK…since we got that out the way early, we were all free to enjoy the unreleased music we voluntarily came to hear. I was actually quite impressed by several tracks.
Peep a few samples from Pleasure P’s upcoming album below as well as his explanation as to why he finally left Pretty Ricky:
I mentioned on my Twitter yesterday that I really didn’t think that the “Tipsy” song was that bad and that the vision of Sexy Spec twirling around in his baggy red Speedo’s basically skewed everyone’s judgment. Like for real…how can we listen to the song with all that going on? CardioDoctor2b quickly responded: “U need to put it up on ur site without the video then”… so here it is just for him!
I haven’t gotten Tip’s official mugshot yet so this will have to do for now. TheSmokingGun released this old shot of T.I. from an incident that occurred in Florida back in 2003. His swagger game was still tight back then as I’m sure it is right now. For those of you who’d like to write Mr. Harris while he’s locked down, feel free to jott down the address below and tell him I said “What’s Up”:

I told you guys a while ago that Sheree Whitfieldhad moved out of the mansion that was featured in last season’s The Real Housewives of Atlanta. Well in case you need a refresher, the home located at 5525 Long Island Drive was on and off the market for a while earlier this year and Sheree eventually moved out and landed in an apartment home nearby.
The 8,903 square feet home, originally listed at $2.8 Million, was reduced to $2.4 Million right before “it was ripped off the market and seized by the bank in foreclosure.” As property of the bank, the home was re-listed with a reduced asking price of $959,000 and after only 9 days on the market, it went under contract and sold for what listing information shows was $1,100,000. It is also being reported that Sheree’ (or someone) removed all of the appliances from the home prior to vacating the property. (Source 1 and 2)
