Really Now? ~ High Rise Reality Show in the “A”

In the last three weeks, I’ve had just as many people tell me that the world is sleeping on the reality show that (was and) is Atlanta. All of them maintained that BET’s Baldwin Hills was nothing but The SWATS – in the ‘80’s. Harlem Heights? That’s Atlanta in the early 90’s when the music first blew up. In the new millennium, Comcast seems to have finally caught up and is gifting our dear city with an entire “reality” network.
Comcast likes Atlanta to the point that it’s started an entire on-demand network focused on the city and the people in it.
Real City TV/Atlanta, which starts next week is the first time the cable provider has built an entire lineup of reality programming — 25 shows — around a major city. Should the network prove successful, Comcast has plans to create other ones in other cities, said Larry Schweber, a Comcast spokesman. (Source)
Sombodies actress, TP alum and SFTA darlin’ Kaira Akita is a featured cast member of the flagship show Terminus set in the Buckhead condo of the same name.
I’m kinda wondering, though, how you have a “reality” show in Atlanta with over a dozen cast members and only 3 of them are African-American? I’ve got a treatment to pitch – “SFTA: Black Blogality, Real Reality”. Thank they ready to get that real? Naw shawty, naw.
