School Daze brings back mad memories! Spike Lee once explained that Dap’s point of waking up the entire college was “to encourage the student body to wake up and take notice to what was going on around them. Things were getting out of control and it needed to stop. The calm and conclusive “WAKE UP” to the audience meant “wake up from all the bullsh*t we bring on ourselves and that we perpetuate in our community and neighborhoods and in, most of all, society.”
