The Grammy Nominee Reception (Atlanta Chapter) was held at the W Hotel on Thursday, January 29, 2009.  Big Boi, T.I., Drumma Boy, DJ Toomp, Dallas Austin and more were spotted at the affair. You know how they say, “it’s just an honor to be nominated” well this A-Town group are winners all the way!

While I was tailing T.I.’s “A”zzzz all over Atlanta Saturday night, my boo, Shaquille O’Neal was partying it up at Esso’s. I ain’t mad though cause I don’t normally do clubs…[insert side eye here] but when I saw the pics my heart did sort of drop at bit!  Anywhoo, regardless of all the Atlanta jumpoff nonesense, Shaq is still my all-time favorite so what-EV. Oh…and I almost forgot that my boo just exceed his long-time rival Hakeem ‘The Dream’ Olajuwon on the NBA’s All-time Scoring List to land solidly at number 7. Goooo Shaqie! By the way…Dominique’s at number 10.

The Hoop Doctors broke it down a bit better than me, since I look at the men in the game and not the scores. They even brought up this old Taco Bell commercial that made fun of Shaq and Hakeem’s on court feuding:

Atlanta Stalking Charges Withdrawn Against Shaquille O’Neal

Meet Janice McCarl. The Colorado woman, 53, was arrested last night for allegedly sexually assaulting a male friend late last year. McCarl, seen below in a Longmont Police Department mug shot, was booked into jail on a felony charge of suspicion of sexual assault. According to a police report, a copy of which you’ll find here, the victim, 50, told investigators that he invited McCarl to a barbecue at his home last November. Following the barbecue, the man contends that he passed out and awoke to find McCarl molesting him. The man, who believes that he was somehow drugged by McCarl, told police that she “had her hands…in his ass.” The man said that when he later confronted McCarl, she laughed and asked, “What did I do, kill somebody.” He added that McCarl eventually acknowledged the molestation and apologized.

The victim told police that, prior to the attack, he had been “intimate” with McCarl “approximately 5-6 times since July 2008.” McCarl is scheduled to appear this afternoon in Boulder County District Court. (Source)

Is it really possible for a female to rape a male? I mean…aren’t there some things that have to happen in order for the sex act to be successful?? I recall where DMX accused a chick who was seeking paternity of raping him but he was probably on them beans. In either case, the male had to be somewhat willing. I guess

Memphis legends 8Ball and MJG held a private listening party at Grand Hustle studios a few nights ago. From Suave House to Bad Boy and now finally home with Grand Hustle, the duo premiered several hot joints for the invited crowed.  The theme of the session was “Jury Duty” and 8Ball invited all to issue their criticism.  I arrived late (as usual) but caught a few of the songs.  I’ve been a fan for so long, it wouldn’t really have mattered much anyway, but the lil bit I heard I liked and judging from the clip below, I think Tip did too:

D. Woods and Mika Means were spotted partying it up at Luckie Food Lounge Wednesday night. Mika, who you may recognize as part of The Girls Club, will be performing live at Onyx Friday evening and her highly anticipated album is coming soon. I’m not quite sure what D.’s doing right now though. She’s being a bit tight lipped about her activities but word is she’s working on a series of mix-tapes dubbed “Independence Day.” The first one is due out next month, and others will follow throughout 2009. Most of us believe that she’ll be returning to Danity Kane during Making the Band 4, Season 3 but she told me that’s not the case and that she is working as a talent agent of sorts by assisting up and coming artists.  I’ll just have to take her word for it for now.
