El DeBarge (born Eldra Patrick DeBarge), former lead singer of the family singing group DeBarge who had mild success as a solo act, was sentenced Wednesday (October 28th) to serve 2 years on a cocaine possession charge. The Los Angeles Judge had little sympathy for the 47 year old former star, who was still on probation for a 2001 cocaine bust, not to mention a series of warrants over the past year for domestic violence, vandalism and drugs, and gave his the stiffest penalty possible.
According to the district attorney’s office, DeBarge also has a second case pending, for violating his probation in 2006 with another drug bust. A hearing in that matter is set for November 10th. DeBarge was picked up by authorities over the weekend on outstanding warrants.
Too bad…so sad. I guess good hair can go wrong as is evident in El’s mugshot photo. There is a 2nd undated mugshot under the cut showing El with short hair and a wide-eyed blank stare. A look that he’ll also be giving his future husband cell-mate. SMH…He’s way to pretty for prison.

I cant believe this NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO not El this man used to be the shi for real. Ans Fine ass hell dont believe me look at his video cant get enough. An he has had several drug charges since 2001 truth be told he should have been in jail lol.He needs to go to jail for a year then rehab for the next year,not just two years in jail with no help. His family has had problems with drugs for a long time,I hope they dont get his ass in jail people pray for El debarge.

It’s never ok to hit a woman or do drugs,there i said it however he needs help badly i just watched the debarge doc. it was painful to know what his family went through I pray this man gets the help that he deserves. I think there is good inside of all that pain. El Debarge is a very gifted man whoes music touches u to the soul. God hasn’t given up on u and neither will I. Is there an address where i can write him?
