Usher Plans “Ladies Only” Tour
Usher is currently in the planning stages but will soon reveal details for a “One Night Stand” tour for ladies only. Preliminary plans are that he will perform at about 15 “intimate” venues. Being that his sales were so poor on his latest release, I’m thinking that the small venues are not an option, however his choice to perform to ladies only will probably hurt more than help, since a ton of his fan base are gay males.
When asked why he wanted to perform a “ladies only” tour, Usher stated:
“There’s only a few artists that can pull that off,” said the 29-year-old singer. “I feel like I’ve had such a connection with my audience. This album, I felt like, was definitely the type of one that was more intimate. So what better way to get up close and personal than to make it all women?” (Source)
To follow the “ladies only” theme, Usher is also planning a line of lingerie and men’s undergarments. Ummm..OK. Whatever. We haven’t been seeing a whole lot of Usher lately but don’t fret, Usher, he’s been working on a video for his next single “Trading Places.” He will also be performing at the NFL’s annual kickoff concert Thursday along with Keith Urban and Natasha Bedingfield.
