Lil Jon’s “Crunk Ain’t Dead” Pendant Set For Auction

Lil Jon’s “Crunk Ain’t Dead” pendant is set to be auctioned off during Phillips de Pury & Company’s “Hip Hop Crown Jewels Auction” scheduled for October 1st.  Lil Jon is one of many blinged out celebs who have joined in on the action to fund a worthy cause.  Other pieces that will be available include Missy Elliot’s diamond, black diamond and gold turntable ring, Biz Markie’s black and white diamond headphones pendant, Sean “Diddy” Combs diamond and platinum bracelet, Pharrell Williams’ pave diamond Gucci link necklace and Slick Rick’s multicolor diamond-set eye patch.

Lil’ Jon’s famous diamond “Crunk Ain’t Dead” pendant weighs nearly 12 pounds and boasts a total of 3,756 round-cut white diamonds set in 18K yellow and white gold.

A portion of proceeds from the sale will benefit Russell Simmons’ Rush Philanthropic Arts Foundation, the Hip Hop Summit Action Network and the Diamond Empowerment Fund.  If you have fat pockets and are interested in owning a part of hip-hop history, check out pictures of the items up for sale and additional auction details under the cut:

“Hip Hop’s Crown Jewels” showcases complex cultural artifacts embedded with style, and indelibly marked with narratives of class, religion, materialism and the American Dream. This unprecedented auction is led by specialist Alia Varsano, Worldwide Head of Contemporary Jewelry at Phillips de Pury & Company, in consultation with Minya Oh, noted hip hop authority and author of Bling Bling: Hip Hop’s Crown Jewels. 

This is the first time that hip hop jewelry will be presented within the auction setting, as glitering cultural artifacts woven into hip hop’s colorful legacy. A historic selection of approximately 50 jewelry pieces from some of hip hop’s most illustrious musicians, rappers and jewelers will be offered, including those worn by:
