Reader Files Lawsuit Against “Fat Gay Pig” Perez Hilton
Celebrity blogger Perez Hilton has just been hit with a $25 million lawsuit for publishing the name and e-mail address of a disgruntled reader. The reader, Diane Wargo, 42, sent Perez (real name: Mario Lavandeira) a nasty e-mail in response to a post he’d written regarding Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt. In her email, she called Perez a “Fat Gay Pig” and proceeded to hate on Angelina Jolie by calling her a “gross skank.” Perez responded by publishing the entire email, along with Wargo’s name and her office e-mail address! LOL!
According to a Court of Common Pleas lawsuit filed yesterday by Wargo and her husband, the publication of the e-mail resulted in Wargo receiving “several hundred emails threatening her and her family” and “many threatening phone calls to her listed home phone number.” Additionally, Wargo’s Menorah Park supervisors were also contacted by angry Perez Hilton readers, some of who posted scathing comments about her on the popular blog. Wargo contends that she was fired as a “direct result of the negative publicity and ongoing harassing emails and phone calls” triggered by her e-mail with its anti-gay sentiments. (Source)
I’m all for free speech and all but Perez was wrong for publishing the woman’s email address. Name…yes, I might have done that but not her contact information. The chick who wrote the email was also an idiot for sending it from work! A good attorney could work this out for Perez (who I’m “secretly” rooting for on this one). It’s going to be interesting to see how all this turns out.
