Family Fued ~ Tyler Perry’s Cousin Sells Him Out to TMZ
There’s a family fued brewing between Tyler Perry and his cousin Marlon Campbell. Marlon, an Atlanta producer/director obviously aspires to be just like his cuz, so he figures using Tyler’s name in some promotional material for his new flick “Oblivious” might just give him the boost he needs. Well…he had a rude awakening when Tyler’s attorney’s sent him a cease & desist letter demanding him to remove all references to Tyler Perry. When Campbell wrote back stating he was a relative, it was revealed that Tyler himself called in the troups. (View Letter)
TMZ is clowing Perry…stating “Tyler Perry’s flicks mine his family for all kinds of material, but heaven help the family member who uses Tyler’s name for a little career boost!” but Campbell is clearly in the wrong. It was he who even leaked the story to TMZ! 
Dude! Make your own money and stop trying to get a leg up on someone elses success. Maybe if you woulda approached Tyler instead of assuming it was OK, he would have offered you the assistance you needed but now you’ll never know. Family! Dayum if you do…and dayum if you don’t!

June 19, 2008 @ 1:27 pmWow what a comment. I am amazed by the bias TP fans. First, Tyler has openly admitted to using Character references from his family/favorite Aunt (his cousins mom). So its ok for TP to profit from his family’s likliness but he get bent out of shape because his names mentioned in conjunction to his cousins films…WHATEVER!!!. Secondly, a reporter broke the news of TP’s relationship to his cousin not his cousin…duh it’s called HOLLYWOOD! That’s going to automatically happen. Lastly, why did Mr. Christian (TP) lie about his cousin not distributing his stageplays in the cease and desist, when copies of invoices are flooting all over the internet. Maybe Mr/Mrs. Reporter you want to get the facts before opening your mouth…never know how you may ultimately be looking!
